Warehouse Disasters Caught on Video [Video Gallery]
Between security cameras in the workplace and employees using their own smart phones to turn themselves into photojournalists, there's a wealth of video available online demonstrating the consequences of poor or no training in warehouses and distribution centers.
Between security cameras in the workplace and employees using their own smart phones to turn themselves into photojournalists, there's a wealth of video available online demonstrating the consequences of poor or no training in warehouses and distribution centers. Granted, not all of the videos are good, and many of them involve staged hijinx, but safety trainers who know the difference are finding plenty of material to use in their course work--demonstrating what NOT to do.
One trainer I've gotten to know in the last couple years is David Hoover of Forklift Training Systems. He uses videos in his classes and mixes in his own commentary to turn examples of bad and stupid behavior into teachable moments. MH&L invited Mr. Hoover to join us in conducting our own mini-session in the form of a video gallery. We found the following examples of warehouse disasters and near-disasters on YouTube. Included with them are our takes on what's wrong with these pictures and what should be done to make them right.
