Intelligrated will be featuring its OLS (one-level shuttle), an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) that provides quick access to individual cartons, totes and trays in a minimal footprint for high-volume distribution, fulfillment and manufacturing environments. The shuttle system provides access to a variety of product types for goods-to-operator fulfillment, just-in-time inventory management, as well as product sequencing and buffering to support mixed-unit load, full-case and break-pack order fulfillment, order consolidation and route-based delivery.

Rytec Corp. will show its Spiral Door for industrial buildings such as warehouses and distribution centers. The door, which has an opening speed of 60 inches per second, includes a next-generation System 4 door controller. The intelligent processor and variable frequency drive generate an energy-efficient speed curve for smooth motion, soft starting and soft stopping. Roll-up aluminum slats have a rubber membrane covering their connecting hinges to contain heating/cooling energy to prevent air infiltration. This tight seal helps protect against dust pollution, drafts and inclement weather.
CECOR will be showcasing its fleet of industrial dumping carts and dumping frame. All of CECOR's carts can be paired with the company's dumping frame (sold separately) for elevated, rotational dumping of fully loaded carts. The dumping frame is secured to an overhead hook hoist or forklift truck. The frame is then secured to the cart by the cart's trunnion pins, which can be adjusted to accommodate load weights from light and bulky to heavy and dense. When the loaded cart is ready to be emptied, the operator pulls on a lanyard, which triggers a spring on the frame that overturns and rotates the cart 360 degrees for thorough emptying. The now-empty cart returns to an upright position for return to the ground.

Flux Power will be introducing its LiFT Pack line of advanced lithium battery packs for material handling equipment. Based on soft-packed, electrolyte-starved LiFePO4 technology, the LiFT Pack is designed for large energy storage systems, specifically for Class III lift trucks, known as "walkies." This class of equipment is typically used for moving pallets either in a distribution center, or on and off of delivery trucks. The pack has been sized dimensionally so that it will fit a broad range of walkie manufacturer battery enclosure sizes and, as a result, is designed as a universal application. Flux Power's Battery Management System (BMS) constantly monitors cell voltage, temperature and balance, and then computes the battery pack's charging status and health, and controls major system components used in charging and discharging the battery pack.

Kardex Remstar will present sort2ship for compact, high-speed case and tote buffering and sequencing as well as automatic goods to man order-picking for small parts inventory. Utilizing sort2ship, order lines from various storage systems—including storage lifts, vertical carousels and static shelving—are grouped together in a compact solution. Conveying technology in combination with an automatic load handling device, automatically transport containers to the Megamat RS Vertical Carousel for buffer storage. On demand, the containers can then be sequenced according to customer-specific shipping options and automatically retrieved for packaging or sent directly to shipping.
Siemens will be showing its conveyor technology for material handling. An integrated drive system with Siemens motion control and drives products, along with communication protocols, will be on display. Included will be Sinamics drives, which are capable of controlling any material handling application, from basic roller tracks to multi-axis, high-bay racking units; Simatic S7 PLCs and software, which includes operator control and monitoring systems within a single software environment; and Simogear gear motors.

Ohio Gratings will be showing its metal bar grating products. Its MBG PressLock steel grating is designed for applications including mezzanine decking, platforms, catwalks, pallet rack decking and open mesh shelves. It offers a high-percentage open area for light penetration and visibility. Pallet rack decking allows for high point loads.

AMETEK Prestolite Power plans to introduce an advanced Wireless Battery Identification Device (WBID) that continually reads and stores information about lift truck batteries. The company will also be showcasing major updates to DataLink 2, its data analysis software used in conjunction with WBIDs and battery Charger Interface Devices (CIDs). Working together, the WBID and DataLink 2 are designed to improve warehouse efficiency by gathering data wirelessly, monitoring battery usage and identifying potential problems that could lead to downtime. The new WBIDs provide critical information to extend battery life, solve service issues and help with warranty claims. DataLink 2 software, working in conjunction with the WBIDs and Charger Interface Device (CID), enhances the ability to collect charge and discharge data from the charger.

RapidStore ML from Dematic is a miniload automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) that handles totes and cartons. It is a high density, compact load staging and sequencing solution, for reserve storage, goods-to-person order fulfillment, automatic pick face replenishment, palletizing, and order consolidation applications. For the production environment, the RapidStore solution is appropriate for kitting, work-in-process buffers, and materials storage applications. RapidStore is equipped with a telescopic extractor, or table load handling device that can store single, double, or triple deep in a rack structure. The load handling device can accommodate totes, trays and cartons.

Integrated Systems Design (ISD) is introducing its UltraBatch single and multiple line order processing workstation. It can be integrated and configured to work with manual, semi-manual and fully automated goods-to-person inventory storage systems. In goods-to-person systems the workstation is configured so SKUs/inventory is automatically presented to the operator at an ergonomic height. Simultaneously totes or shipping containers are automatically staged at thigh height for filling of orders. Totes may be divided to support multiple orders or SKUs if cube allows. UltraBatch workstations are designed to match the inbound flow of goods.

Slingbelt from Keytroller is called an always-used seat belt because it is uncomfortable for a driver to sit on and annoying if not buckled on his/her lap. The patented orange plastic sling design makes it easier for the operator to enter and leave the seat than a conventional seat belt. It includes a buckle switch and can be retrofitted to any make or model forklift.
