Smaller Panel for Bigger Robots
ABB Robotics has extended the functionality of its IRC5 panel-mounted controller (PMC) to all ABB robots. This brings smaller footprint functionality and simplified internal cabling benefits to large robots. It also makes integrating large robots easier by allowing machine builders and system integrators to create custom enclosures to best protect the electronics from harsh environments. This will benefit numerous installation types, including food applications requiring washdown, foundry applications requiring protection from moisture and dust, and environments where the controller faces ignition risks, extreme temperatures or excessive vibration.
