AUSTIN, Texas-ClearOrbit has changed its name to TAKE Supply Chain. Princeton, N.J.-headquartered TAKE Solutions Inc. acquired ClearOrbit in July 2007. The company says that the new name represents a unified identity for the supply chain resources, products and services offered by TAKE Solutions worldwide.

At the time of the acquisition in 2007, TAKE Solutions president and CEO, Ram Yeleswarapu, claimed, “This transaction provides a truly outstanding fit between two highly compatible organizations. ClearOrbit’s excellent personnel, brand name and products, coupled with TAKE Solutions’ access to international markets and expanded resource pool, will allow us to reach new heights. The combined organization, led by John Reece and a strong management team, is well positioned to capitalize on the exciting global opportunities this transaction enables.”

Reece is now the TAKE Supply Chain president. He comments, “We chose this time to implement a global re-branding so we could represent a single, collective voice to customers and partners around the world. Combining the strength of TAKE Solutions’ global brand identity with our enhanced product portfolio positions us for continued rapid growth across the supply chain applications market.”

In conjunction with the name change, TAKE Supply Chain says it has significantly expanded its product portfolio of applications. New product applications are aimed at enabling companies to establish demand-driven supply networks for rapid response capability to supply chain risks and opportunities. These applications leverage ClearOrbit’s single data model approach.
