APX Logistics, a business-to-home package delivery partner to the United States Postal Service, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and has halted operations. According to private equity firm Heritage Partners, the company’s major shareholder, APX has struggled since Heritage’s acquisition of R.R. Donnelly Logistics, when RRD’s and APX’s operations were combined.
APX’s sales in 2005 were $770 million. The company had a network of about 50 facilities in the U.S., and a fleet of about 400 vehicles.
