Hostess Brands Inc., a wholesale baker and distributor of bread and snack cakes, has chosen Greatwide Logistics Services, a third-party logistics provider (3PL), to provide dedicated service for its southern Florida bakeries.
Specifically, Greatwide will deliver fresh baked goods, breads and snacks from Hostess’ bakery in Orlando to eight Hostess distribution centers in key locations in south Florida, including Miami.
Greatwide was awarded the contract based on its experience with extremely time-sensitive delivery requirements of customers in the food industry. Other reasons cited were track and trace capabilities, flexibility and commitment to sustainable operations.
Hostess made the switch to Greatwide in an effort to streamline its south Florida distribution operations, improve efficiencies and generate additional cost savings in the region.
