Billings Transportation Group adopts freight management system
Application from Progress Partner Carrier Logistics Uses OpenEdge Platform to Integrate Billing and Tracking, Reducing Errors and Enhancing Customer Service
Billings Transportation Group Inc., a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier, has selected the FACTS total freight management system from Carrier Logistics Inc. Billings, which specializes in consolidating multiple shipments from different customers on a single truck, uses FACTS to eliminate costly delays and delivery problems by integrating and automating administration, customer service and operations.
Based on the OpenEdge platform from Progress Software, FACTS is designed to improve operating efficiencies by automating freight billing and reducing administrative costs. The system also gives customers a comprehensive online self-service option for shipment tracking, account information, rate quotes and pickup requests.
Since its implementation in July 2004, the FACTS program has provided Billings with the checks and balances required for optimal accuracy.
"Service is our product. If a shipment is scheduled to go to Miami and it ends up in California, that's a costly problem on a number of levels. Accurate data is what this business is all about, which is what FACTS delivers by eliminating human error," says Wayne Bersch, vice president of operations for Billings Transportation Group.
