A. Duie Pyle Chooses Descartes for LTL Solution

Descartes Solution Offers Integrated Approach for Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) Transportation Planning, Routing and Dispatch

A. Duie Pyle Inc. has selected Descartes' Area Planner and Route Planner, both part of Descartes' Mobile Resource Management solution set, to integrate planning, routing and dispatch needs for its less-than-truckload (LTL) services. A. Duie Pyle is a provider of transportation services, including LTL, truckload transportation, contract and public warehousing, and third-party logistics services.

Area Planner, specifically designed for LTL carriers, small package carriers and couriers, uses simulation, design and modeling exercises to help improve pick-up and delivery operations. Route Planner uses the model from Area Planner for daily routing, dispatching and plan-versus-actual tracking of pick-up and delivery operations. Combined, the two systems are designed to help Pyle improve truck utilization and reduce operating costs.

Mobile Resource Management solutions leverage the power of Descartes' Global Logistics Network (GLN), which currently connects over 35,000 global trading partners. GLN enables users to electronically connect and exchange information with their business partners, allowing them to reliably exchange information.
