Seaboard Marine has selected GT Nexus to provide transactional e-commerce services to the ocean carrier’s customers.
In addition to e-commerce functionalities already available through its company-sponsored portal, Seaboard will integrate its operational systems to support bookings and shipping instructions for multiple customers through the GT Nexus Trade and Logistics Portal.
“The ocean transportation industry is rapidly becoming a technology-centric business,” said Bruce Brecheisen, executive vice president, at Seaboard Marine. “We selected GT Nexus because they have essentially become a technology standard for the industry, which will help us better serve our various customers who have already standardized on GT Nexus for ocean freight management.”
“We welcome Seaboard Marine to the community of carriers operating on the portal,” said John Urban, president of GT Nexus. “The shipper and third-party logistics (3PL) customers that are automating transactional services on GT Nexus will be thrilled to see that Seaboard is a fully integrated carrier, supporting their supply chain initiatives.”
All services on the GT Nexus portal are delivered via the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, which allows customers to get up and running quickly and cost effectively, continued Urban. Carriers integrate to the portal once and then use that single standardized interface to exchange business information with thousands of global customers.
