Hitachi Chooses Choice Logistics for 3PL Services

June 17, 2010
Choice Logistics will provide mission-critical service parts logistics for Hitachi Data Systems EMEA

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) EMEA, a provider of storage infrastructure solutions, has selected Choice Logistics, a third-party logistics provider (3PL), to provide mission-critical service parts logistics management. Choice will also facilitate import and export compliance on behalf of the company. Choice has served as the service parts logistics partner for Hitachi Data Systems in North America and other regions of the world since 2001.

The implementation process was initiated during the holiday season in late 2009, culminating in early 2010. In the process, Choice transitioned inventory and integrated HDS EMEA into its distribution network over the course of 10 weeks. This included several markets that were added after the initial launch. Choice also managed the transfer of import and export documentation from the previous 3PL, and assumed responsibility for service parts customs compliance.

Choice is currently managing mission-critical service parts logistics for Hitachi Data Systems EMEA in approximately 40 cities across 26 countries.
