Creform Corporation’s AGVs are suited for manufacturing operations where space is limited for delivering materials to various processing operations. Many different frame configurations are possible and the example shown features a flat deck for carrying boxes, totes and small packages while its compact dimensions allow it to travel in space restrictive areas where most AGVs could not fit. This AGV is outfitted with a hitch for towing lightweight trailers. In addition, its low cost make it well suited for entry-level users to try out an AGV system. The AGV consists of a cart built with a system of pipe and joints and a bolt-on AGV drive unit. This keeps the frame’s weight to a minimum while providing the flexibility to allow the AGV to be easily modified. The unit shown measures 34" L x 18" W x 37" H. This single direction vehicle follows a peel and stick magnetic tape guidepath that is easily installed, and if necessary repaired and modified. It also responds to commands from magnetic tape strips placed on the floor perpendicular to the guidepath, eliminating the need for programming.
