Freightquote.com, a provider of online heavy freight management, has announced web site enhancements for cross-border shipments through integration with A&A Contract Customs Brokers Ltd., headquartered in British Columbia, Canada.

By integrating with A&A, Freightquote.com will offer a pre-arrival review system (PARS), in which its carriers will transmit shipment information to A&A prior to the shipment’s arrival at the Canadian border or point of clearance. A&A will subsequently submit an electronic release to Canadian customs using information that the Freightquote site captures during the scheduling process.

Upon arrival, the driver provides a bar coded document to customs. Customs officials then match the load to the transmission from A&A. If customs has no questions and no need to examine the shipment, the goods are released immediately.

The new enhancements will allow Freightquote.com's customers to: * automate the Canadian Customs Invoice (CCI) during the scheduling process * transmit required clearance information to A&A’s expert brokerage staff * realize quicker movement of goods across the border * estimate applicable duties & taxes * track and trace shipments through the border clearance process.
