Newark, CA -- October 27, 2003 -- ADX ñ Advanced Data Exchange, a leading provider of supply chain integration solutions, today announced that Owens Corning, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of building materials and composite materials, has extended its contract with ADX to provide supply chain connectivity services to more than 2,100 of the company’s suppliers.

Owens Corning, a $5 billion Fortune 500 company, launched its first supply chain integration campaign with ADX in 2002 through which ADX has successfully connected Owens Corning to more than 200 of its top suppliers.

ADX will work with the next phase of suppliers to quickly enable them to trade electronically with Owens Corning via the ADX Network, significantly improving business efficiencies and reducing overall supply chain costs. †

“ADX has helped Owens Corning achieve a major milestone in improving our supply chain processes,” said Jim Hawkins, eSourcing Process Leader at Owens Corning. “Owens Corning had four major goals when we launched this project: hard dollar cost reductions, supply chain visibility, business process integration, and a common, standardized process for all vendors. Our Phase One supplier integration program with ADX exceeded its goals in each of these areas. Based on this success, we’ve decided to expand the program to a second, larger group of suppliers and extend these benefits to the balance of our key suppliers as quickly as possible.” "The new contract from Owens Corning is a strong endorsement of the value of the ADX service for rapidly increasing supply chain collaboration,” said David Michaud, vice president of marketing for ADX. "We’re pleased and excited to expand our partnership with Owens Corning by enabling the balance of their suppliers through ADX.”
