Wearable Picking Device

Kardex has introduced the Wearable Task Assistant (WTA), a wearable device for picking processes. The WTA provides step-by-step guidance for users throughout the picking process with an E-Ink display that fits comfortably on the wrist. It displays all information, such as pick cart details, quantities, and put locations, while validating each step with a built-in scanner.

It ensures precise execution through the built-in scanner and real-time validation process, immediately displaying an error message and guiding the operator to the correct put location. This double-confirmation system helps reduce mistakes and improves order accuracy. By offering simple prompts, from scanning to placing, it reduces the need for memorization, allowing workers to focus on task completion rather than process details.

The design simplifies onboarding, allowing any employee to quickly adapt and operate, helping to cut down on training time while improving productivity.

When used with the Kardex Color Pick System, the WTA enables batch picking, allowing the operator to pick larger quantities of a single item for multiple orders at once. This further speeds up order fulfillment and reduces walking distances.
