WALTCO, part of Hiab, has launched the WALTCO FM1000, a full-closure liftgate functioning as a combined rear door and liftgate. The new liftgate is connectivity enabled for Hiab’s HiConnect service and includes free access to the Standard package for one year. It is now available exclusively from Morgan Truck Body.
The WALTCO FM1000 was designed as an integrated solution so the rear frame and rear door are replaced by the liftgate to make it lighter and safer.
It has a lifting capacity of 1,000 lbs and is specifically developed for light duty, final mile delivery vehicles. It is 500 lbs lighter than a traditional flipaway or column lift, with the benefit of increasing payload and reducing fuel consumption. For a fleet of 100 vehicles, the CO2 reduction would be 51 tonnes over the same period, the equivalent of CO2 production from 21,000 trees.
Hiab HiConnect for liftgates is a connected service that provides access to real-time data about the condition of equipment.
