The Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) will function as a database for visitors to www.cbp.gov and as an email resource to deliver information to those on a CBP subscription list. Data available relates to CBP's Automated Commercial Trade Interface Systems.

To now, the only automated commercial system with administrative messaging was the Automated Broker Interface (ABI). Using CSMS, the CBP now can broadcast messages to ABI users and for a number of other commercial systems, including ocean/rail manifest, air manifest and electronic truck manifest.

After February 11 the ABI Administrative Message System will be converted to only CSMS. Data may also be received by email.

http://service.govdelivery.com/service/multi_subscribe.html?code=USDHSCBP is the link for creating a subscriber profile that includes an email address to which information on specific subjects will be sent; an optional creation of a password; and a list of subject areas in which the subscriber is interested.

Subject areas identified by CBP for the new CSMS are: Automated Broker Interface (ABI); ACE Outreach Events; ACE Portal Accounts; ACE Reports: Air Manifest; Ocean Manifest; Rail Manifest; Truck Manifest; Cuentas en el Portal de ACE (ACE Portal Account - Spanish); and Transportistas de Camion (Truck Manifest - Spanish).
