Oracle says it will now be able to offer users a Logistics Hub solution that will be “the first complete information driven logistics management platform for any industry with global supply chains.” G-Log transportation and logistics capabilities will be combined with Oracle’s ERP applications and technology infrastructure. Since the solution will be available from a single vendor, total cost of ownership will decrease while capabilities increase.

AMR Research points out that the acquisition may move Oracle past SAP into the top spot in share of the Supply Chain Management market. Too, G-Log is designed to use an Oracle database and more than half of its current customers are Oracle application users.
