Its basic services include providing support, services and education for the core areas of less than truckload, small package and parcel, however NASSTRAC (National Small Shipments Traffic Conference) is moving to meet changing market needs. “We will bring members extended value in areas of transportation, ranging from full truckload to containerization and global logistics,” says Brian Everett, executive director.

Increasingly, members have found their professional requirement changing and this move takes recognition of those changes in their industry segments, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics, consumer products, machinery, food and beverage and retail, among others.

A particular strength of the organization is the educational opportunities it offers members. In 2006, for example, it is sponsoring a webinar series, “Supply Chain Management Online University.” In it, nationally recognized academic advisors will offer their expertise to enhance members skills and knowledge of logistics services.
