Heating, venting and air conditioning equipment manufacturer Carrier Corp. (www.carrier.com) has renewed and expanded its 3PL contract with Ryder System (www.ryder.com) for inbound raw-materials and outbound finished-goods transportation for the Totaline division. Carrier’s operation at Ryder’s 100,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Monterrey, Mexico, also calls for Ryder to provide a customized 75-person line feeding operation.

Estes Express Lines (www.estes-express.com) has launched Estes Air Transportation Services, an airfreight forwarding division that provides airfreight service throughout the continental U.S. Services offered include same day/next flight out, next day priority A.M. or P.M., second day, economy service (three to five day), time-definite and charter air service. Estes Air will follow a non-asset based model of airfreight forwarding.

Pitt Ohio Express (www.pittohio.com) has expanded its Harrisburg, Pa., location from a 40-door facility to an 80-door dock that will include two drive-through bays, allowing fleet maintenance for the terminal to be handled in-house by staff mechanics.

Crowley Liner Services (www.crowley.com) has launched weekly service from Port Everglades, Fla., to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Crowley will use the lift on/lift off (LO/LO) ship, Olympos.

Old Dominion Freight Line (www.odfl.com) has added the states of Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri to its 100%, full-state coverage list, bringing to 27 the number of states where Old Dominion offers 100% coverage.

FedEx Freight (www.fedex.com) has opened a service center in Newburgh, N.Y., 40 miles north of New York City. The 120-door terminal will provide reach as far south as Baltimore.

DHL Danzas Lemuir (www.dhl.com), a joint venture between DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and the Lemuir Group, has announced direct less-than-containerload services from Mumbai, India, to Germany, Belgium and the U.K.

Daylight Transport (www.dylt.com) is now offering expedited services from Illinois to the southwestern U.S. and into Mexico through its gateway at Laredo, Tex. The new services provide a one- to three-day lane.

Truckload carrier Schneider National (www.schneider.com) has opened two brokerage offices — one in Houston, and the other in Laredo, Tex. — to aid shippers with cross-border shipments and provide additional services to customers in the region.

Menlo Worldwide Forwarding (www.menloworldwide.com) has opened an office serving the Port of Manzanillo, Mexico, which services 15 states in the Republic of Mexico. The state of Jalisco, where the port is located, is host to more than 130 Maquiladora plants.

Overnite Transportation Co. (www.overnite.com) has opened a new service center in St. Louis, with double the capacity of its previous location. From St. Louis, Overnite will be able to provide next-day service to 17 states.

TNT Express (www.tnt.com) has combined its U.S. and Canadian capabilities to create a North American organization headquartered in Melville, N.Y. TNT Express is the business-to-business express delivery arm of Netherlands-based TPG.
