Air Improvements Will to Aid the 2004 Olympics

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has worked to implement a technical and operational plan to improve the area’s air navigation route network. Others involved in putting the plan into action include the governments of Greece and Turkey, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and nine other countries in the area.

Implementing the plan will be to provide additional air links for increased traffic related to the Athens Olympic Games. With increased efficiencies in the area -- up some 15% --it’s estimated that airlines will save about 40 million Euros in operational cost savings.
