The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) (Naples, Fla.) reports that new orders for the first 6 months of 2005 increased 8.8% compared to the same period in 2004, with total new orders of $2.6 billion and industry shipments of $2.5 billion.
In the bulk conveying area, screw conveyors reported an 18% increase in bookings and a 24% increase in shipments. Manufacturers of unit handling systems recorded overall bookings growth of almost 14%.
