Milwaukee, WI -- Catalyst International, Inc. (OTC: CLYS.OB), a global provider of supply chain execution (SCE) solutions, today announced it has implemented and optimized SAP Warehouse Management [WM] and SAPConsole wireless data collection transactions for Symbol Technologies, a global leader in enterprise mobility solutions. Symbol implemented SAP release 4.7 and worked with Catalyst to implement SAP WM and SAPConsole at their Holtsville, New York manufacturing and distribution facility to replace logistics hardware and software and to provide real-time connection between manufacturing and distribution processes.
Symbol upgraded their SAP software and implemented SAPConsole to take advantage of new functionality, including better cycle counting and the elimination of interfaces between other systems. The new software streamlined communication between raw materials and distribution and increased overall efficiency within the supply chain. The New York facility is a new product introduction facility where engineers design, build and manufacture the first run of products.
"From a process perspective, our New York facility is relatively complicated. Catalyst helped us leverage the processes we had created and adapted SAP WM to fit our needs. We expect substantial cost savings from reduced technical infrastructure needs through the elimination of multiple support contracts and legacy hardware," said Keith Bravo, Manager of Distribution and Warehousing Systems.
"The new solution enables our own IT resources to focus on supporting one central SAP system," he added.
SAPConsole provides real-time connectivity to SAP functionality without the need for additional middleware. The solution supports all major warehouse processes provided by SAP Logistics Execution System (LES). Catalyst is one of the few and largest certified SAP Services Partners focused specifically on SAP LES.
