Dole Completes Pallet Tests

ORLANDO, Fla.—Dole Fresh Vegetables has completed testing and will expand its use of recyclable plastic pallets from Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS).

Dole has also completed testing of iGPS plastic pallets in conjunction with plastic RPCs. To track product movement, Dole has developed a system that ties each iGPS pallet ID with a company-issued UPC.

“The iGPS plastic pallets performed flawlessly from the field all the way to the end user,” says Robert Engle, vice president of supply chain at Dole. “The RPCs rode well with no slippage or shifting of any kind.

“This pallet is a leap forward for the supply chain and, equally important, is further evidence of our commitment to acting in an environmentally responsible manner,” Engle adds.
