CHERRY HILL, N.J.—AmeriQuest recently expanded its “outside the warehouse” fleet management services by launching an “inside the warehouse” material handling services division.
AmeriQuest says its new Material Handling Services division leverages the buying power of its member base to dramatically lower total material handling costs for customers. The company claims that users of material handling equipment can search a database containing more than 3 million parts for more than 100 OEMs and save an average of 15% to 45%.
Using the online system, members can select parts by part number or from a drawing of the make and model of their equipment. They can order the parts online, over the phone or by fax. The system also offers real-time inventory levels and pricing.
“Many of our members have been requesting a material handling solution, including lift truck parts, service and a new equipment purchasing program,” says Doug Clark, president and CEO. “Upon conclusion of a brief trial supporting an outside company to provide this solution to our members, we are happy to announce we made the decision to bring this program in house. With our internal capabilities and by leveraging our members, we found we could provide our members with a comprehensive solution, with better pricing and a larger menu of services. Each month, we will be adding new suppliers with new products at substantial savings to our members. If you have seen this program before under a different name, I urge you to take another look at it again.”
