MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Rite-Hite’s STR-4100 Dok-Lok Vehicle Restraint is the only restraint that helps prevent chronic personnel injuries at the loading dock from trailer drop, and now it has been improved to stabilize the trailer with even heavier loads up to 35,000 pounds. The new category of restraint is also engineered to improve dock productivity, reduce product damage, and decrease dock equipment repair costs.
Trailer drop is a safety risk that can occur at virtually any loading dock and is often severe on trailers with air-ride suspension systems. Due to the weight of the lift truck, and the load, the trailer bed can drop significantly when loading or unloading. This “drop” causes jolts to the operators, which can lead to chronic back and neck injuries. It can also damage product and dock equipment.
By securely stabilizing the trailer in both the vertical and horizontal directions, the STR-4100 is the only restraint that ensures a smooth transition between the dock and trailer. Additionally, the STR-4100 features Rite-Hite’s unique rotating hook design that engages the trailer’s Rear Impact Guard (RIG) in a two-point entrapment and helps prevent all forms of trailer separation, which can lead to catastrophic accidents. The STR-4100 is also designed to withstand impact and is automatically positioned as the truck approaches the dock.
