Tootsie Roll Industries Partners with DSC Logistics

Tootsie Roll Industries (Chicago), one of the country's largest candy companies and maker of Tootsie Roll, Charms, Dots, Andes Thin Mints, Double Bubble and Junior Mints, has signed a two-year contract with DSC Logistics, a supply chain management company to operate its first regional distribution center in Allentown, Pa. DSC developed a solution that includes refrigerated storage, a flexible storage footprint to adapt to seasonal volumes, a dynamic pick line to maximize productivity in a high case pick environment and procedures to export product to Canada and Mexico. DSC will receive product from Tootsie Roll plants in Chicago, Ill.; Covington, Tenn.; and Toronto.
