Chicago–Click Commerce Inc., a supply chain management solutions provider, announced that its Parts Planning Solution will be used by Lockheed Martin to support vehicle sustainment for military ground vehicles in a 10-year contract worth up to $5.6 billion.
In September, after a competitive bidding process, the Defense Logistics Agency awarded the defense contractor initial funding for a four-year base period to work on the Fleet Automotive Support Initiative-Global (FASI-G) program, part of the defense department’s drive to improve logistics and sustainment support to forces worldwide through performance based logistics.
According to the company, Click Commerce software is designed to help Lockheed Martin manage inventory and maintain supply chain logistics with more than 350 suppliers who produce roughly 1,200 parts, with the potential to grow to 10,000 parts. The software will assist in the delivery of maintenance and replacement automotive parts to military forces, while meeting surge requirements.
Lockheed Martin has worked with Click Commerce for 10 years and currently uses the Parts Planning Solution to help manage logistics and warehousing for tires used on U.S. Navy and Air Force aircraft worldwide.
