Würth Logistics is now producing its own pallets. The Swiss service provider invested around $3 million EUR in the assembly line. Würth’s euro pallets were examined by SGS Controll-Co in September and now carry the EPAL logo. About 50,000 pallets per month are currently being produced and the company plans to double production by the end of 2009.
The euro pallets are sold at the 700 sq.-m. loading unit center at the Eco Park in Hörbranz (Austria), which went into service last July. The facility permanently stocks 5,000 euro pallets, which are ready for immediate use. In addition to new pallets, the loading unit center offers second-hand pallets for foodstuffs and highbay warehouses.
