UPM Rafsec Starts Operations At High-Volume RFID Tag Production Facility

UPM Rafsec (Tampere, Finland) opened a new radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag production facility in Fletcher, N.C. UPM Rafsec is making EPC (electronic product code) compliant UHF tags using a high-volume production technique that reportedly delivers higher yields.

“We are very pleased that the Fletcher site has opened ahead of schedule,” said Christer Härkönen, senior vice president, UPM Rafsec. “The strong and rapid development of our U.S. operations, together with the launch of our Gen 2 product portfolio, has incredibly enhanced our capability to serve our US customers.”
