WESTERVILLE, Ohio—DHL Supply Chain has a new five-year contract with Nike to establish a new distribution center in Louveira in the state of São Paulo in Brazil.
Operations are to be transferred from the former São Paulo location in Guarulhos. The new location is part of an existing DHL campus, Louveira Distribution Park.
The park includes four other DCs. Nike’s new facility will support a fast-growing operation that currently handles 30,000 SKUs for three separate business units—footwear, apparel and equipment. Nike has been a DHL Supply Chain customer since it began operations in Brazil in 1999.
The facility receives goods from several different countries as well as from a number of domestic suppliers. DHL Supply Chain solutions employed in the new DC include receiving, storage, order picking, distribution and reverse logistics, as well as value-added services such as labeling, packing, defect analysis and rework. It will soon deploy a new warehouse management tool designed to support Nike’s fashion and retail product specifications.
