OCONOMOWOC, Wis. - ORBIS Corporation announced that it has launched the 45 x 48 MP3 Topcap, which is injection-molded in high-density polyethylene and acts as a cap or cover for pallet loads and bulk containers while providing a stable platform for the load above. Features on the top surface of the MP3 Topcap ensure that the loads will be secure during storage, forktruck handling and transportation. This new product will be on display in ORBIS’ Booth E-5801 at PackExpo 2009, November 9-13 in Chicago.
With its industry-leading compatibility with nestable pallets, bulk containers and selected racks*, ORBIS’ MP3 Topcap reduces freight costs for suppliers throughout the automotive and industrial supply chains. With the flexibility to mix product loads, suppliers can fill each position on outbound trailers and reduce the number of partial loads leaving their facility.
Weighing just 16.6 pounds, the MP3 Topcap:
• Reduces risk of employee strain
• Offers a long service life, with added structural reinforcement in all foot pockets
• Provides shipping flexibility by ensuring mixed loads can be securely transported
• Reduces partial truckloads
• Protects identification labels in recessed surfaces
• Provides load protection with a deeper and more rigid skirt
This plastic top cap is 100% recyclable at the end of its service life. Available options include identification plates, vinyl labels, seat belt buckles and hot-stamp logo placement.
*NOTE: Due to the lack of standardization in rack footprints, rack compatibility needs to be tested prior to implementation in a system.
