The Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (Bethesda, Md., ACHMM) has elected its 2007-2008 Executive Committee. Laureen McMurray Boyle, CHMM (Rochester, N.Y.) and Michael J. Mandracchia, CHMM (Skillman, N.J.) were elected president and vice president/president-elect, respectively, and W. Scott Butterfield, CHMM (Trenton, N.J.) was elected treasurer. Elise Allen-Frankenfield (Cleveland, Ohio) was appointed secretary to replace the void created when McMurray Boyle was elected president.
"This new ACHMM leadership team is energetic and committed to their profession, their colleagues and their association," said incoming ACHMM president McMurray Boyle. "In the coming year, we will focus our attention on solidifying the organization's strategic direction and long-term growth. We also will concentrate on expanding our membership base by positioning the organization as the number one advocate for the hazardous materials management profession."
ACHMM is a nonprofit organization with the mission of fostering the professional development of members through educational programs, peer group interaction and recognition of the Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (CHMM) credential as the standard of excellence in the industry. ACHMM is made up of more than 65 chapters in 37 states and more than 6,000 credentialed hazardous materials managers residing throughout the world.
