September 10, 2003 - Kansas City, MO. - CMS Manufacturing Systems, developers of CMS/400 - a fully integrated and comprehensive ERP solution for lean manufacturers - today announced that it has been selected by the Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company to install an enterprise software system for better management of the company’s consumer and commercial goods manufacturing and shipping operations.
The CMS400 system to be installed at Faultless Starch features wireless bar code data collection, EDI/Release Accounting, real-time shop-floor reporting, advanced planning and scheduling, and tooling and maintenance integration, among other capabilities.
“The CMS solutions will make it possible for us to integrate data across all of our systems in real time,” said Helen Garvin, Vice President, Logistics and Systems, for the Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company. “These advanced capabilities will give us a much more efficient way to meet the unique requirements of our customers.”
As a leading producer of starch and cleaning products, Faultless Starch manufacturers more than 1,000 individual product SKUs (stock keeping units). Because virtually all of these products are low unit cost and produced to stock, sophisticated inventory management is essential. With the CMS solution, Faultless Starch will be able to produce special bar code labeling and pallet configurations to efficiently meet the unique requirements of its customers in the grocery, mass merchandising and lawn and garden retail segments.
To win the Faultless Starch contract, CMS Manufacturing beat out six other competitors, including J.D. Edwards. “We felt CMS was the closest fit because of the breadth of the product and the ease of implementation,” Garvin said. “We are very impressed with CMS400 in large part because it gives us an effective dashboard to provide immediate connection between the manufacturing floor and our executive decision-makers.”
