Textile fiber manufacturer Invista (Wichita, Kan., www.invista.com) has reached an “unprecedented” warehouse safety milestone, according to its 3PL provider Kenco Logistics Services. As of Sept. 13, Invista’s facility in Chattanooga, Tenn., has had no loss-of-time accidents in 30 years and therefore set a national record in the distribution industry, according to Kenco.
Invista, formerly DuPont Textiles & Interiors, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc.
Kenco Logistics Services says it has been managing logistics operations for the Chattanooga warehouse for more than 40 years.
Kenco adds that Invista’s Seaford, Del., and Waynesboro, Va., facilities have had no time-loss accidents in 20 years.
“Safety is critical, not only for the people involved in our operations, but also for greater efficiency, productivity and profitability,” says H. Lane Baker, Invista’s manager of motor transport, warehousing and downstream operations. “Kenco has been a long-term partner helping us reach this industry milestone.”
