LONDON—Wine Relief is the industry’s contribution to Comic Relief.
Comic Relief in the UK and Africa donate all funds raised to help extremely poor and disadvantaged people in those geographical regions.
Each year, Wine Relief offers its Red Nose Day campaign—this year, it’s Friday, March 13. For each bottle of Red Nose Red or White wine purchased then, £1 will go to Comic Relief.
Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL) and the UK’s specialist in providing logistics to the wine industry have combined to transport the Red Nose Day wine. It moved in bulk from the South Africa’s SAAM Mountain Vineyards to Britain’s Port of Tilbury. From there, it moved by train and truck to the bottling plant.
A variety of retail outlets are participating in the “Do Something Funny for Money!” activities. In the history of its association with Red Nose Day, Wine Relief has raised £2.7 million for Comic Relief.
