The First Coast Roundtable of the Council of Logistics Management has presented a scholarship to the University of North Florida, College of Business. The scholarship in the amount of $1,500 was presented on May 18, 2004, at the Propeller Club’s 2004 National Transportation Week Dinner and Maritime Day Celebration held at the Jacksonville Port Authority’s new cruise ship terminal.

The scholarship will be used by the university to support the studies of students enrolled as transportation and logistics majors.

“We’re pleased to present this financial support to UNF for its logistics program,” said Russ Dixon, president, CLM First Coast Roundtable. “Our mission is to foster educational opportunities for persons interested in the logistics and supply chain fields. We have successfully partnered with the staff at UNF since the 1990s to help provide a well-rounded scholastic program for their logistics students.”

“The university will use these funds to support its overall logistics curriculum, which currently has more than 100 students who have selected this field as their major,” said Dr. Yemisi Bolumole, assistant professor of logistics, University of North Florida, College of Business. “These funds will go a long way toward helping our students reach their goals.”
