In August Volvo Trucks North America, Inc. (Greensboro, N.C.), opened a new, 314,000 sq. ft. parts distribution center in Baltimore. The new parts distribution facility (PDC) is expected to fill more than 400,000 parts orders per year. It joins Volvo’s existing facilities in Reno; Memphis; Columbus, Ohio; Chicago; Dallas and Toronto.
“This is the third new PDC Volvo has added to its network in the last year, which shows Volvo’s absolute commitment to delivering uptime for our customers,” said Rikard Jonsson, senior vice president – Parts Sales & Marketing. “This brings significantly improved support to our many customers and dealers in the Northeast. The Baltimore facility is strategically located within a few hours of major cities on the East Coast. It will enhance parts availability, shorten delivery times and increase customer satisfaction in this heavily populated area.”
