The Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) and the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) are pleased to announce the winners of their 2006 Outstanding Material Handling Research Paper Award. This biannual award was developed by MHIA and CICMHE to recognize excellence in material handling-related research. The winners are:

Material Handling research papers in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, supply chain, and logistics were nominated by the research community at large. Eligible topics included the application of material handling technologies, the improvement of material handling performance, as well as the design and control of facilities, systems and networks with significant material handling content.
