    Dow Corning Hires APL Logistics…Again

    MIDLAND, MICH-For the ninth year in a row, Dow Corning Corp. has contracted with APL Logistics for land transportation and warehouse management in its North American operations.

    “We’ve been doing business with Dow Corning since 2000. To be renewed year after year by one of the most important names in this industry sends a strong message to the marketplace,” claims Peter Knapp, vice president of contract logistics at APL Logistics.

    APL Logistics will manage the 40,000 square foot Dow Corning North American DC at Shepherdsville, KY. It will also manage land transportation services for Dow Corning products shipped Mexico and the domestic U.S. markets.

    In commenting on the contract renewal, Dow Corning said that APL Logistics demonstrated performance in cost per kilogram of freight under management; response time when supply chain issues arose; and on-time cargo delivery record weighed heavily in the choice.
