OfficeMax Inc. (Itasca, Ill.), an office products retailer, announced plans to open a new 100,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Carolina, Puerto Rico in October. The new DC will provide more immediate access to office supply, technology, paper and furniture products and new, responsive delivery options for OfficeMax retail stores and business customers in Puerto Rico.

"This new distribution center provides a foundation for further growth in Puerto Rico, including new retail stores and new resources and services for large, mid-sized and small business customers."
The new facility will accommodate 5,000 items comprising the major office product categories selected specifically to meet the demands of OfficeMax customers in Puerto Rico. OfficeMax has provided consumer and business-to-business service to Puerto Rico since 1994 and now operates 10 retail store locations and serves hundreds of business contract customers in the area.
