As a result of an on-going investigation, members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Plastic Industrial Theft Task Force, assigned to Industry Sheriff’s Station, located three sites exploited to stow and grind stolen trademarked plastic products. At the first, an established pallet yard, approximately $13,000.00 of intact stolen trademarked plastic products were located and one suspect was arrested and charged for being in possession of known stolen property.
At the second, also an established pallet yard, approximately $36,000.00 of intact stolen trademarked plastic products were located and one suspect was arrested and charged for being in possession of known stolen property.
The ongoing investigation led the task force members to the third location, where they discovered a warehouse utilized to stow and primarily grind stolen trademarked plastic products. Approximately $200,000.00 of intact stolen trademarked plastic, as well as approximately $60,000.00 of ground plastic was located. In addition, approximately $70,000.00 of equipment and machinery used to disassemble and grind stolen trademarked plastic were seized and four suspects were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit grand theft as well as for being in possession of known stolen property.
