Automated Packaging Systems Earns Safety Certification

STREETSBORO, Ohio—Automated Packaging Systems, a supplier of packaging systems, has received Food Safety Certification from AIB International, an independent, international auditing organization.

Automated Packaging Systems received a "superior" rating.

As part of the audit requirements, the company had to demonstrate appropriate security measures, established cleaning and maintenance procedures and stringent control of all incoming and in-process materials.

According to a company spokesperson, the absence of food and drink at workstations and the use of hair and beard nets are among the controls that contribute to the contamination-free environment. Additionally, positive air pressure in the manufacturing plant ensures prevention of contamination from airborne particulate matter and insects.

Automated Packaging manufactures the plastic material and finished poly bags for bags-on-a-roll and bag packaging systems used in food packaging and other bagging applications.
