Children's Place to Build New 700,000 sq.-ft. DC in Alabama

The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (Secaucus, N.J.) broke ground on a new 700,000 sq.-ft. automated distribution center in Fort Payne, Alabama. The company expects construction to take one year. It currently has three distribution centers in Ontario, Calif.; Dayton, N.J.; and Ontario, Canada.

The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. is a specialty retailer of children's merchandise. It designs, contracts to manufacture and sells merchandise under the proprietary "The Children's Place" and licensed "Disney Store" brand names. As of August 2006, the Company owned and operated 827 The Children's Place stores and 325 Disney Stores in North America.
