NAPLES, Fla.—The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its November 2007 booked orders index was 145, an increase of 17% from the index in October 2007 and 11% from the index in November 2006.
November booked orders indexes were 185 for bulk handling equipment and 132 for unit handling equipment. The 12-month index for booked orders was 156 in November, which represents an increase of 1% from the 12-month index in October 2007.
CEMA’s shipments index was 131 in November, which is down 6% from the October 2007 index. The November index, however, represents an increase of 3% from the November 2006 index of 127.
November shipments indexes were 180 for bulk handling equipment and 126 for unit handling equipment. The 12-month index for billed sales was unchanged from the October 2007 12-month index of 146.
