CINCINNATI—Psion Teklogix Inc., a provider of mobile computing solutions, has signed a distribution agreement with technology distributor Ingram Micro Inc.
The Ingram Micro data capture/POS division will support, market and resell Psion Teklogix’s rugged computing solutions, including its mobile handheld and vehicle-mounted computers, RFID readers, scanners and voice and printer products.
Industry analyst firm VDC Research Group Inc. predicts continued growth for the automatic data capture (AIDC) industry in the coming years as businesses strive to increase productivity, speed and accuracy; improve inventory turns; enhance customer interaction; and reduce costs.
“Demand for mobile, data capture and POS computing solutions is growing, especially within field-intensive verticals, such as retail, entertainment, manufacturing and public sector,” says Justin Scopaz, vice president and general manager at Ingram Micro’s data capture/POS division. “We are pleased to offer and support Psion Teklogix’s complete line of ruggedized mobile computing technology and expand upon our growing portfolio of vertically focused IT products and solutions.”
