The University of Houston (UH) (www.tech.uh.edu) is now offering a new track combining two disciplines — logistics and information management. It represents a step forward by the university to strengthen its curriculum in the College of Technology.
Previously, information technology (IT) and logistics operations were taught separately at the school.
“Typically professionals in both areas collaborate to deliver data solutions,” says Robert Seaker, assistant professor of logistics technology at the school. “But it is when each has an understanding of the other’s goals, resources and technologies that solutions can become even more robust and effectively implemented.” Currently there are 80 undergraduate students enrolled in the logistics technology program.
