DHL will invest over $21 million by 2007 in its domestic Mexican air network launched the first week in September. The new air network will provide six daily domestic flights to or from Hermosillo, Ciudad Obregon, Ciudad de Mexico, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Monterrey, Villahermosa, San Luis Potosi, Mazatlan, La Paz and Guadalajara.

The new flights will enable DHL to reach 98% of the Mexican population within 24 hours, according to Erika Quezada, director of operational planning for DHL Mexico. DHL Mexico will now fly an average of 1.9 million miles per year, the equivalent of 6,200 flight hours. It will also increase its air cargo capacity by 40% in Mexico to over 10.5 million pounds annually.
