Rental pallets certified safe for food chain

NSF International gave its Food Equipment Certification to the recyclable plastic rental pallets offered by Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company, LLC).  This certification demonstrates the pallet complies with the organization’s food protection and sanitation requirements for materials, design, fabrication and construction of food handling and processing equipment.

NSF certification requires that food-related equipment be designed not to harbor  pests or accumulate dirt or debris. It must also permit easy inspection, maintenance, servicing and cleaning.  NSF’s Food Equipment Certification Program includes rigorous testing, certification and production facility audits to verify compliance with these requirements. Annual audits of the production facility are also part of the certification process.

“NSF International examines the materials that come in contact with food and reviews the construction design against the standard requirements to ensure cleanability and prevent the harborage of bacteria,” said Joe Phillips, General Manager of the Food Equipment Program at NSF International.  “The NSF Certification Mark on iGPS’ pallet confirms that NSF has assessed and certified its conformity against these requirements.”
