Dec. 17, 2010
Vehicle glass repair company will use WMS to help manage logistics in its largest distribution center

Safelite AutoGlass, a vehicle glass repair and replacement company, has chosen a warehouse management system from Cambar Solutions for its largest distribution center to date. The Georgia-based facility supports distribution of vehicle glass east of the Mississippi River and expands capacity from Safelite’s Enfield, North Carolina facility by 36%, allowing for storage of 250,000 windshields and 90,000 other vehicle glass parts.

The WMS will help Safelite manage every aspect of its DCs, from receiving, putaway and replenishment to picking, packing and shipping of all Safelite glass products. Safelite also uses the Cambar WMS to manage its distribution facilities in North Carolina and Ontario, Calif.

Benefits from using the WMS include locating and managing inventory, performing physical cycle counts, picking glass for shipment and preparing it for delivery, explains Mike Bradsher, director of accounting, manufacturing and distribution control at Safelite AutoGlass.
