ClearOrbit's acquisition by TAKE Solutions will position it as the US-based supply chain management division of a global business software and services organization. Privately held TAKE Solutions is a life sciences and supply chain management solutions provider.

The ClearOrbit brand name will be retained and combined with TAKE's existing supply chain management division.

"This transaction provides a truly outstanding fit between two highly compatible organizations," said Ram Yeleswarapu, president and CEO of TAKE Solutions.

Earlier, ClearOrbit announced the release of ClearOrbit ERM 4.1, a system that automates returns processes for medical device, high-tech, and industrial manufacturers. In that announcement, ClearOrbit noted it had improved functionality and configurability and developed a new Returns Dashboard for real-time visibility.

ERM 4.1 manages the returns lifecycle, from return merchandise authorization creation to final production disposition, said ClearOrbit. "Best-in-class companies are increasingly seeing returns management automation as a means to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and uncover new profit sources," said Warren Sumner, vice president of marketing and products.
